I finished up work on 24 April and to be honest, I was a little worried about how I would cope with that as I have been very career focused for the last 10 years. However, the last two and a half weeks have whizzed by. I’m not sure how I used to fit work in to my busy schedule đ
In all honesty though, with all the last minute things to do and buy for Eggbert (our pet name for baby), attending various appointments, catching up with friends, doing odd jobs around the house and squeezing in afternoon nanna naps, I am glad I finished work when I did. I’ll officially be 37 weeks tomorrow, with Eggbert due on Monday 3 June – assuming baby wants to come on time! I am also getting tired far more easily these days and try not to be out all day, given my sleep at night is broken by several trips to the bathroom…
Our nursery is almost complete – James put up shelves for me today (good handy hubster that he is) and now I am just looking for a night light/lamp for the room, oh, plus I might make and hang some paper pom poms from the roof. Then the nursery will be all systems go, although at the moment the plan is for Eggbert to be in our room in a cradle for the first few months, which James also set up today.
So, all in all, I feel like we’re fairly organised for Eggbert’s arrival which is good as I think the next three weeks will also whiz by and then the real adventure begins!
Happy Mother’s Day to all those awesome Mums and Mums-to-be out there đ
